Manager Karen Bollinger said winning the award was great recognition for the Molong based team with people stopping them in the streets to pass on the congratulations. “It was a good morale booster and highlights the work these businesses do in smaller towns”, she said.
This sentiment is backed up by Central West Business HQ Executive Officer and Daroo Awards Chairman Bruce Buchanan who said the awards were originally started to highlight regional, rural and remote businesses instead of just those in the city.
“The awards not only showcase these businesses but help them look internally and improve the way they operate. It shows that a business can be from a small town but still be the best in the Cabonne Shire”, he said.
The theme for this years awards is “Embracing the Future Together” and Mr Buchanan said that it was fitting given how hard small communities work together to achieve great things. It was with this theme in mind that they selected this years guest speaker, Ms Jane Spring. “Jane will be a great speaker given her professional role is focused on the future development of regional NSW”, he said.
The winners of the Daroo Business Awards will be announced at an awards night on Friday, November 3rd.
