The talented French co-driver knows he must stay focused and keep working hard if he is to find success in the Bathurst 1000.
It is something he believes he and McLaughlin, runners-up at Sandown, can find in their DJR Team Penske Falcon.
“We have the car, we have the pairing which is good, but the races are pretty long you know and sometimes they are pretty unpredictable with safety car, with the weather, so we have to be very careful with that for sure,” Premat, who is set to make his sixth appearance in the Great Race, said.
"Sometimes when you feel very comfortable, this is how you make mistakes, so we have to make sure we are going through the process and making sure even if we are looking pretty cool, not to be too lazy in the car or in the team strategy.”
