Beer steins, bratwurst, pretzels and pickles, are being passed around tables around Orange as German descendants, and those who simply love a party get stuck into Oktoberfest celebrations.

Some supermarkets have got into the celebration with promotions for sauerkraut, pumpernickel and a whole assortment of German snack foods from peanut flavoured chips to sausages.
Along with private parties, the Greenhouse at the Ex-Services’ Club and the Eighteen 70 restaurant have held celebrations.
It may seem a month too early to bring out the lederhosen and oompah music but even in Munich, the home of Oktoberfest, it runs from mid-September until the first weekend in October.
