Cabonne council is asking if the village’s show, which will be on May 1, should coincide with a local, part-day public holiday to allow more residents to attend.
Polling residents may seem like a redundant concept. After all, who doesn’t love a public holiday? Well, aside from business owners and shopkeepers who may struggle to pay penalty rates, that is.
Cabonne Council is accepting submissions from the public until October 6 so residents can have their say.
If the idea gets the green light, there’s no doubt residents from other areas will be lobbying for their own.
