The What I Love About Holidays in NSW campaign, run by Destination NSW, features four videos that have been created with government and publically-submitted holiday videos.
A promotion by Destination NSW attracted 623 videos of NSW’s tourism hotspots from the public.
Parliamentary secretary for Western NSW, Rick Colless said wine, produce, local events and country stay experiences were highlighted on the videos which would be used to promote regional NSW.
“These new videos not only capture the true beauty of Orange but position our region as a desirable destination,” he said.
“Orange over the last couple of years has reinvented itself as a cultural hub that prides itself on its food and wine.
“It’s now a major tourist destination.
“It’s only three and a half hours from Sydney and is becoming one of our most popular regional cities.”
TOURISM VIDEO
Mr Colless said the videos should help drive tourists to Orange.
“I have no doubt this initiative will capture the attention of potential travellers from across the country and encourge them to look no further than Orange when planning their next weekend away or longer stay,” he said.
NSW tourism minister Adam Marshall said there would be three more videos covering regional events, country NSW and walks.
He said the initial response to the videos had been strong.
“The initial phases of the What I Love About Holidays in NSW campaign generated 6.8 million video views, more than 166,000 visits to the VisitNSW website and over 13,000 leads to industry,” Mr Marshall said.
