A new app for smartphones and tablets, Grow by Genea, will allow patients access to the images of the embryos taken during the five days they spend growing in an incubator.
Genea Medical Director, Associate Professor Mark Bowman said people would be able to download the images and videos to share with family and friends.
“After being involved in the early part of the IVF cycle with blood tests and ultrasounds, patients can feel a little detached once their eggs and sperm are collected and developing as embryos in the lab,” he said.
“Giving them access will help them feel more connected and involved in the process. Seeing is believing.”
It will be available at the Genea clinic in Orange From August 7.
There is no extra cost for the service for patients.
