Ticket sales were approaching the 3000 mark on Tuesday – well short of hopes of an 8000-strong crowd – but sales always pick up in the last few days.
Penrith players and officials will arrive in Bathurst on Wednesday for a number of engagements, including school visits and a free coaching clinic at Bathurst Sportsground on Wednesday afternoon.
Bathurst mayor Graeme Hanger said the Panthers had a wonderful partnership with Bathurst that delivered many benefits to the community.
“I’m pleased the club members can take the time out of their training schedules to get involved to meet the community to share their stories, skills and experiences,” Cr Hanger said.
“The athletes are role models for many children.”
