With three wins on the trot leading into the trip to Parkes, Wanderers needed a better showing on the road in round four and, through the likes of Adam Skelton, Logan Dolbel and James Shakeshaft, the oranges got it.
Hurford was the major beneficiary of the work of Wanderers’ triple-threat through the midfield, scoring a hat-trick, while Skelton rammed home a double in the big win.
“Playing on with the upcoming juniors is what we are building on and gives an old bloke like me confidence that we as club are in very safe hands,” Hurford said.
“The young guys are playing much better hockey and with confidence.”
Caiden Reddan and Luke Skelton also hit home winners in the rout, one that keeps Wanderers in touch with the competition’s top four.
Wanderers sit in fifth spot, one win behind Bathurst Souths.
Hurford was confident the club can build on its most recent success, with Hanry Jones another stand-out for the visiting side.
“It was a good win for us as we have been training very well and hard fine tuning our defence, the midfield really set things up both attacking and defensive,” he said.
