Brett Reid, 35, of Marsden Place, was fined $800 for assaulting a police officer, $600 for resisting arrest and $400 for behaving in an offensive manner.
At 6.25am on January 15, police were called to Marsden Place after a report of loud arguing and a physical fight between two men.
When police arrived they found the accused being restrained and another man walking along the road, with both having injuries such as minor cuts and scrapes on their faces and hands from being in a fist fight.
According to police, Reid continued to want to fight the other man who left the scene.
Police arrested Reid because of his continued aggression and threats to go after the other man.
However, he started to struggle when police took hold of his wrists and after breaking free, he grabbed an officer’s finger and twisted it.
