MIND YOUR BUSINESS: Willoughby’s makes move into one store

The store, which was previously divided across two shops, has moved into bigger premises in the Orange Arcade.

Owner Paul Willoughby said the region’s economy supported a positive outlook.

“We needed to consolidate our two stores and bring all our merchandise under one roof,” Mr Willoughby said.

He said staff could offer better service to customers and extend opening hours.

Travel agency We Know Travel has packed its bags and moved a few doors up to 245 Summer Street.

The doors opened on Monday in the new office, and manager Matt Stonestreet said he had received positive feedback.

“This office fits our needs much better, our aim is to provide a nicer experience for clients,” Mr Stonestreet said.

“It’s our first day and everyone has still found us. Everyone who was in our old office has said how much better our new office is.”

Orange’s Small Acres Cyder will hit the big time at the Great Australasian Beer Spectapular (GABS) when owner James Kendell launches the unique Summer Pudding cider.

He said brew included 13 different apples paired with plums, raspberries and blackberries.

“It’s not a sweet cider. It finishes medium to dry, a little like a dry rosé,” he said.

The Small Acres Summer Pudding will be launch at Sydney’s GABS on May 27 and afterwards will be available at selected craft beer pubs and the Agrestic Grocer.

Mr Kendell said 200 litres would also be bottled and go through a secondary ferment to be ready for Christmas.

The city’s Kathmandu store has re-opened after friable asbestos was found in the building. It was closed in March so asbestos could be removed.

Entries are being sought for the 2017 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
