The Argyles
THE lure of country life led Lilyfield residents Brendon, Angela and Poppy Argyle to move to Orange in December.
Mrs Argyle said the couple learned of the Foxhole, a camping arrangement for fruit pickers, at a conference.
The former financial planner and charity worker managed the operation before turning their attention towards opening a bed and breakfast at Lidster.
“We’re enjoying very little traffic and to be in the open space again,” Mrs Argyle said.
The Archers
ORANGE’S food and wine offerings attracted Melbournians John and Lynda Archer 20 months ago.
“We came here for wine week and the field days and loved it,” Mr Archer said.
Mrs Archer, a retired architect, designed the couple’s home after they decided Orange “ticked the most boxes” in access to healthcare and reasonable shopping.
“We spent the first 12 months in the building process during the wettest winter and now we’ve had the hottest summer,” she said with a laugh.
The Costers
THE Tasman rivalry influenced Catherine and Mark Coster’s decision to move their young family from New Zealand almost three months ago.
Mrs Coster’s sister has lived in Orange for a number of years, but it was not until Mr Coster quit his job as a registered nurse and a position opened at Orange Health Service the couple and their children Brenna, 15, Amon, 12, and Elise, 7, decided to make the change.
“People are really friendly, which is nice,” Mrs Coster said.
Elaine Nucifora
MS Nucifora described herself as somewhat of a gypsy before family influenced her decision to move.
The personal stylist started her business in Orange 15 months ago after spending five years in Canberra, two years in Western Australia, a year in Queensland and three months in Bateman’s Bay.
“My son moved here to look after his father, he fell in love, got married and had my first grandchild so I said that’s it, I’m packing,” she said.
