Goldseekers’ maze a massive success

Goldseekers’ Orienteering Club held its second Summer Series event last Friday at Brendan Sturgeon Oval.

Although the event started after 6pm it was still very hot. This did not deter many of our regulars, along with some new participants, with a total of 34 participating.

Again the maze was popular, with children and adults participating, including the skilful Basil Baldwin.

There are always five short courses set within the maze, with many of the participants completing the lot.

Short scattered: Harry L’Estrange (19.43), Hawke and L’Estrange Family (26.47), Richard Carter (34.39), Lauren Iffland (39.00), James Gregory/Caroline Priest (39.02), Eva/Michelle Morton (41.43), Bailey Bubb (47.52), Edgerton Family (58.13).

Medium scattered: Stephen Johnson (37.25), Benjamin Iffland (41.44), Basil Baldwin (43.05), Freya Wilson (46.05), Jean Baldwin (46.26), Carmen King (54.06).

Long scattered: Nicholas Cherry (34.52), Darren Francis (38.50), Mitchell Allen (51.10), Damien Cain/Taneil Blandford (69.32).

This event is part of a four-week adventure exploring the sites of Orange, which began at Warrendine, went to Clover Hill, this week at Calare and ending at Bel Air.

We will be meeting at Ploughman’s Swamp, Ploughman’s Lane, to explore Calare starting at 6.15pm this Friday. The cost is for members $4 individual, $6 family and for non-members $8 individual and $12 family. SI sticks are $2 to hire.
