Orange police are investigating an alleged assault on a 45-year-old man which left him with a head injury in Matthews Avenue.

Canobolas Local Area Command Inspector Dave Harvey said police and paramedics were called at 11.10pm on Sunday night to an “altercation”.
Inspector Harvey said overnight the man’s condition deteriorated and police and paramedics were called again on Monday.
Paramedics the man at the site and then took the man to Orange hospital at 8.10am in a serious but stable condition, the man’s condition has since improved.
Inspector Harvey said a crime scene had been established and detectives were investigating who was involved.
“There were a number of people at the location on Sunday night. We would like to speak to everyone who was at the location,” he said.
