The Cabonne Daroo Business Awards are on again this Friday 4 November and are being held at the Cumnock Showground. Established in 2000, the awards are an initiative of the Business Enterprise Centre Cabonne Orange Blayney Inc in order to foster the growth of business within the Cabonne Shire.
These prestegious awards aim to celebrate the success of business in rural communities.
“The Awards move from town to town throughout Cabonne Shire providing an opportunity for each community to host the event,” said Bruce Buchanan who has been appointed the independant Chairman of the awards. “The event is also a way of raising much needed fund for our small villages.

“Last year the Cudal Swimming Club hosted the event and used the proceeds to purchase shade sales for their pool. This year, the Cumnock community are utilising the event to upgrade the amenities block and the showground,” said Mr Burchanan.
Mr Bruce Buchanan expressed his delight in the fact that the awards have been so successful over the years. “We are thrilled that that the Daroo Awards have been embraced by the business community of Cabonne. Our shire has so many brilliant businesses and this is a fantastic way to celebrate their success “ he said.
“Small business is tough, but it's even tougher to do business in very small towns and shires. So it is nice for them to be celebrated by their customers.”
