As part of crime prevention week Canobolas Local Area Command (LAC) officers shared tips to keep property safe.
Rural Crime Investigator Detective Senior Constable Sean Beckett said an opportunity to let people know what they needed to do to stop crime and assist police.
“Farmers can put a name to a voice,” Senior Constable Beckett said.
He said farmers could help prevent crime by engraving drivers’ licence numbers into tools or equipment and securing cattle yards.
It was the first outing for the LAC’s newest car, a Mazda MX-5 from John Davis Motors, which crime prevention officer Nikki Hodge said helped start conversations.
“The sponsored community vehicle help start conversations with people that wouldn’t ordinarily feel like they have something to talk to the police about,” Senior Constable Hodge said.
Officers will focus on home security at Bunnings on Saturday.
