The money will be used by 12 schools to implement environmental projects and educate students about the importance of environmental management.
Orange Christian School (OCS) will use their $500 to build an environmental studies area on the school property, which will include a dam and bushland area.
OCS science coordinator Les Follent said the money will be put to good use.
“The environmental studies area will be an exciting and beneficial part of a developing focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) at OCS,” he said.
