Employees of Roger’s Meats Company yesterday donated $1000 to Orange and District Patriotic Comforts Fund. The money was given in response to the current appeal for funds needed to ensure the supply of comforts parcels for troops serving overseas.
More than 800 people are expected to attend the opening of the $40,000 Trinity War Memorial Hall in Anson Street on Sunday July 2nd. The hall, on which work began in February, is complete except the gravel approaches. The ultra modern hall seats 300.
SYDNEY – A 24 year old NZ athlete who is attempting to run 1050 miles from Kalgoorlie (WA) to Port Augusta in SA has crossed the Nullabor Plain. He is now 300 miles from his goal, said organizers.
