Sadly for Orange’s Gary and Zelma Bone their daughter Edwina's prospects of playing for the Hockeyroos in August's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro aren't in their hands.
But should the the Orange-born defender make coach Adam Commens's final squad the couple, along with their children Meredith and Kian, will be in the stands to cheer her on.
There's no guarantees her 100 international appearances will punch her ticket for Rio when the 16-strong squad is chosen on July 4.
And while their fingers are crossed the proud parents are not taking anything for granted.
"We've booked a package where if Edwina is selected we'll get to purchase tickets for all of her games," Mr Bone said.
"Obviously we have high hopes she will be there."
Should the 28-year-old make the final cut Mr Bone expects to see little of Edwina in South America - "just here and there, maybe a few meals" - with the team's singular goal of bringing home the gold curtailing too many non-hockey activities.
