So far, drivers have visited Young, Jindabyne, Sale, Lorne, Port Campbell and arrived in Echuca yesterday where the convoy will rest before leaving for Junee today.
Orange mayor John Davis said the drive had so far been smooth sailing.
“It’s been fantastic - every year we say this is as good as ever, but this year it’s been different,” he said.
“The drive has been sensational down through the Snowy Mountains on some fantastic National Park roads.
“We’ve had a great couple of days along the Great Ocean Road at Lorne and Port Campbell where we’ve seen some wild seas and wonderful scenery.”
So far the group of 28 cars have run into minimal mechanical issues, with only one flat tyre and a minor engine problem that was looked at yesterday in Echuca.
Cr Davis said fundraising had also been going well.
“We’ve had quite a lot of people come up to our cars and ask what it’s all about,” he said
“We’re not raising money to build a facility but rather clinical trials, which is a selling item to anyone.
“We’re up around the $40,000 mark.”
The Cruisin’ Along drive returns to Orange on Sunday, March 20.
