Ronald Judge: A truly great bloke, Orange has lost a legend. My condolences to his wife ,daughter and son-in-law Dave Watson. Rest in peace, Carl.
Debby Ball: What a sad loss to our community. Had the pleasure of knowing Carl since I was a teenager playing hockey with Orange City and my brother Jeff playing cricket with him for many years. We have not only lost a great ambassador for sport in our region, we have lost a true gentleman.
Georgina Frogley: Rest easy Carl and thank you for what you did for my family ... and especially your words about my late young sister who died on November 27, 1967. You helped us place the rock at the site and you said the words I couldn't say about the two nurses Morea and Patricia....taken too soon...thank you. You were also connected to my family through your family and your upbringing...a connection you and I shared. Orange City has lost one of the best ever...a true gentleman. Sympathy and love to the Sharpe Family at this sad time.
Kylie Bloodworth: Very sad day for all the sporting community in Orange and beyond to those people who Carl had such a positive influence over. Thoughts with his family at this time and may his legacy live on. RIP Carl.
Nick Wansey: I'm absolutely gutted. I can honestly say that, apart from my father, this wonderful man had the greatest influence on me than any other person. He taught me so much. Not only about cricket but about life and how to be a good person. My love to your family and may you rest well my friend.
Gavin McDonald: I can't think of a person who contributed more to Orange cricket than Carl Sharpe. He was Orange's 'Mr Cricket'. A sad day but what an example he set.

So many great memories of school holidays spent at coaching clinics and inter-town tournaments, with Sharpie making sure us country kids had these great opportunities. A huge loss, RIP Sharpie.
Novelle L'Estrange: Thanks for the memories Carl. Many years ago you came to the wilds of Condo to wire our house for 240-volt electricity with John Swain of Sears and Swain. Rest in peace dear friend. Estrange family, Condobolin.
Sam Rees: It's a very sad day indeed, my condolences to the family of Carl. Just one of the greatest blokes I have met and been associated with in cricket. Only ever said a good thing about a person.
Glenn Wallace: A huge honour to have know a man so kind and giving to everyone he met, with such passion and love for sport and people involved in it. I thank you for the role model you were for myself and so many others and hope that I can share some of those lesions with others in the future. Will miss you, Sharpie.
Donna Kelb-Dullard: So sad to hear this news. Carl was a wonderful friend of my step father's, Bob O'Donnell, who spoke of him for many years. It was beautiful to finally meet him following Bob's death. I could see what all the fuss was about. A truly lovely gentleman. Really sad to hear this and I can imagine how heavy all of your hearts are. RIP Carl and thank you for your efforts towards the memorial matches. They've been quite unforgettable.
David Redden: Carl was a giant among men. He leaves behind an enormous legacy no one can fill. He inspired, encouraged, guided influenced and led. We loved him. Thousands of people had their lives enriched by Carl Sharpe, OAM.
Jamie Kelb: Very sad news, sorry to hear, I didn't know Carl all that well, but I had the privilege to meet him and share a beer and chat, he worked extremely hard to create the Bob O'Donnell memorial cricket match between Yarrawonga-Mulwala and Orange City, R.I.P Carl. Thanks for your efforts.
Paul McNamara: Carl was a tremendous ambassador for all Sports. I had plenty to do with Carl with the annual Orange Sports Awards which Carl was instrumental in establishing. I'd always refer to Carl as Orange's grandfather of sport.
Matt Findlay: One of the best people I knew. He afforded me opportunities in cricket I'll be forever grateful for, and taught me as much about sport and life as anyone. Incredibly supportive, and a wonderful human being. It was a privilege to call Sharpie a friend.
Tony Wright: He made Kate and me feel like we were valued friends. He definitely had that way about him with everyone he met. Memories of our friendship will stay with me forever. I also have an enduring friendship with members of his family. My heart goes out to them as this is such a tremendous loss. I can't say enough about how wonderful and supportive my dear friend has been down the years. I will miss you very much mate!! As I'm sure everyone whoever got to know you will.

Brendan Curran: What can I say that has not already been said about this truly inspirational guy. Orange has lost a true champion of a guy. I will miss our coffee mornings mate. My thoughts to Kath and the the family as well as the other half of the QSS dynamic duo Beth. RIP Sharpie.
David Emes: The words "great" and "legend" are often used and on some rare occasions they are simply not enough to describe someone. They are not enough for Carl. He not only taught me about cricket, I learned everything I know about junior sport administration and teaching kids from him. He was without peer.
Chris Tremain: Carl helped me find the clarity in developing a cricket game. He spoke calmly of the challenges players and coaches face, which helped me approach the unknown road I had in front of me when I was younger. I'll be forever grateful for the time I spent with him.
Edwina Bone: Such a great man who has supported my sporting career from when I was a kid annoying him and Beth at the Kinross gym, to when I debuted at the international level. My condolences go out to his family, rest in peace Carl.
*Unfortunately, it is nigh on impossible to publish all of the tributes which have flooded in, it would take up the entire internet, such was the calibre of Sharpe. You can view the majority of them on Orange City and the Orange District Cricket Association's social media posts.
