With 13 rounds done and dusted the front-runners haven’t just emerged in every grade, they’re well and truly established, with a number of divisions poised for intense finishes to the season.
The Trojans, looking to defend their 2014-15 summer title, are fighting it out with the Bulls in men’s A with Canobolas High School Boys nipping at their heels in third.
Potentially crucially, in terms of the minor title anyway, the Trojans take on the bottom two sides in the final two rounds in fifth placed Young Guns and last placed OMG Under-18 Rep.
Although, the Bulls’ draw also looks favourable.
They play Young Guns in next Monday’s penultimate round before clashing with fourth placed Vikings in their final regular season match-up, both games they’re expected to win.
In men’s A reserve Jax Jets still hold the competition lead with Renegades, North Orange Tigers, JDM, Lightning and the Parkview Falcons all still in contention for the top four.
It’s a similar story in men’s B where PCYC remain favourites to claim the minor premiership, while Blazers, Rockets, Halftime Heroes and Warriors are all fighting it out for finals places.
Souljah and D’Stingers look set to finish first and second in men’s B reserve, having dominated for most of the competition so far.
After holding premiership favouritism for a substantial hunk of the season, Centrals Toon Squad have somewhat fallen off the perch in men’s C.
They’ve dropped to third and after an unexpected two-point loss to the fourth-placed Avengers on Monday night the gap between the two sides has closed substantially, while the Rucker Brothers and Junior Bulls still hold first and second respectively.
In women’s A the Wildcats and Pink Lightning are sitting first and second respectively and in women’s B the Comeback Queens have firmed as favourites.
