But it is not based in a tower in Martin Place - instead, it is in an office in McNamara Street.
Paraway Pastoral Company is the operating arm of the Macquarie Pastoral Fund, which is part of the Macquarie Group, and held its official opening on Tuesday evening.
In existence since 2007, Paraway recently made the decision to move out of Sydney to set its roots firmly in Orange.
“We went through a selection process that included things like what services towns offered, what sizes they were and what the liveability was like and where it was situated to our properties,” corporate services general manager Campbell Hedley said.
“We chose Orange because of those factors, plus we were able to recruit and retain high quality staff.”
Forty per cent of the Sydney staff relocated to Orange, with the remaining office staff being locals and from different areas of the country.
Across all its properties, Paraway employs about 150 people, depending on seasonal variation.
The closest property to Orange is Borambil Station near Condobolin and the portfolio also includes the iconic sheep and wool property Pooginook in the Riverina and Brahman cattle breeding operation Armraynald in north Queensland.
With the Eastern Young Cattle Index at $5.91 and steer prices cracking the $4 a kilogram mark, Mr Hedley was optimistic about the future of the industry.
“We’re very excited about where the industry will be taking us,” he said.
