Based on their performances in 2014, 44 sportsmen and women have been recognised after reaching state level or higher.
Among the list is Super Middleweight Martial Arts Sports Association amateur world champion Charlie Bubb, who also won a world championship gold medal last year, along with winning and defending an Australian title as well.
Netballers, basketballers, martial artists, swimmers, duathletes and triathletes are among the others being acknowledged today.
The prestigious major awards will also be presented - the sporting organisation of the year and sporting personality of the year.
Reigning champions Orange City Rugby Club and Lucy Gifford (gymnastics) will relinquish their respective titles to new winners today.
The Australia Day awards start at 7.30am with a community breakfast, with the sports awards to begin at around 11.30am.
