After hearing the crash at 3.50am the owner went outside to investigate, and found the vehicle extensively damaged.
“The vehicle will probably have to be written off,” Orange police Sergeant Brendan Casey said.
The impact on the vehicle smashed in the front section, damaged side panels and ripped the bonnet from its hinges.
Sergeant Casey said the vehicle was correctly parked at a 45-degree angle in Sampson Street, between Kite and Moulder Streets when the collision occurred.
He hoped someone who was driving in the area at the time may have seen a vehicle speeding and driving recklessly, and asks them to come forward to assist with police inquiries.
“People can call anonymously to either the station on 6363 6399 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000,” Sergeant Casey said.
The car owner did not want to comment on the incident.
