The female rabbit is around one year old and will need a safe, secure hutch, with netting on the bottom so she has access to grass and an enclosed section to stay warm and dry during miserable weather.
While she would make a good family pet and likes to be handled, staff recommend for her to go to a home with older children, as she is large and small children may not be able to keep control of her.
Cinnamon has not yet been introduced to any other rabbits at the shelter, so it is recommended she be kept in a separate hutch if there are other rabbits established in the home.
The lop eared rabbit will need to be fed rabbit mix, which can be bought from supermarkets and pet stores, and fresh fruit and vegetables.
Access to clean, fresh water is also vital.
Cinnamon has been de-sexed, wormed, vaccinated and checked over by the shelter’s veterinarian and costs $30 to adopt.
Anyone interested adopting the rabbit or another animal can visit the William Street shelter during business hours, Monday and Wednesday to Sunday, from 10am until 3.30pm, or call 6362 6171.
