Senior and junior cricketers, representing all of Orange's cricket clubs, attended the gathering at midday.
They gathered around the #408 painted on the Wade Park ground. This was the number on Phillip Hughes' baggy green cap.
During Saturday's gathering, the Orange players observed 63 seconds' silence to mark the 63 not out Hughes finished on in his last innings before he was hit by a cricket ball.
Hughes was struck by a ball while playing a Sheffield Shield match on Tuesday.
He collapsed and was taken to hospital. He died on Thursday.
Cricket Australia announced this weekend junior associations could lift the compulsory retirement score from 50 to 63 as a mark of respect to Hughes.
