On Sunday Orange lost out to Campbelltown on the road, its fifth consecutive State League loss and fifth consecutive away loss.
In fact, the Warriors have failed to win a game on the road this season.
“It’s no secret we bowl better at home,” Orange’s Jason Brown offered.
“We have definitely struggled on the road this year.”
Brown said a slow start was to blame on Sunday as Campbelltown breezed past the Warriors in the singles and doubles, winning 24-14 and 27-11 respectively.
“We started very slowly, and they got the chocolates in the singles and doubles,” Brown said.
“We warmed up a bit in the teams, and got the win there (18-16) though which is a big positive.”
Campbelltown also took the four bonus points for overall pinfall, securing a 71-43 victory.
Jason Osborne and Ron Forbes were Orange’s best bowlers, averaging 218 and 212 respectively, while Luke Cooper and Nick Flannery were Orange’s next best averaging 199 apiece.
Ken McLachlan (190) and Ross Southwell (182) also performed admirably in the loss.
“I’m not sure how much the final score really reflects the games though,” Brown said.
“We aren’t bowling badly. We did only have two bowlers average over 200 though, whereas Campbelltown had plenty more.
“We had a couple of high 190s though, but if we can manage to get an extra 10 pins on each bowler’s averages then we’ll do much better.
“This year was always a bit of a rebuilding year I think, we’ve yet to have our best side play together really.
