The-22-year-old did not show up in Orange Local Court on Thursday after he was charged with larceny, driving while disqualified, attempt to prescribe a prohibited substance and drive an unregistered vehicle.
But in his absence he was fined $3500 and further disqualified from driving for two years.
Police facts said at 4.30am on June 18, Kent pulled up near a home in Holly Place which had two 19 inch Holden special vehicle mag wheels near the front door.
The wheels were worth $3000 to replace.
Unfortunately for Kent, the home was surrounded by CCTV cameras and his white Skyline with a black bonnet was quite unique.
The homeowner saw Kent steal the tyres and yelled out to him to bring them back but Kent, with the help of an accomplice, threw the wheels in the back of the Nissan and drove off.
The CCTV cameras also filmed a partial registration plate.
Nearly two weeks later police saw the vehicle and pulled Kent over to arrest him.
“I’ve got no idea what you’re talking about,” he told them.
Nor did he have a current driver’s licence when he was asked to produce that.
“Something happened at court and it’s frozen or something,” he said.
Police discovered his licence was disqualified until 2018.
They also discovered an Endone tablet in Kent’s wallet and he did not have a prescription but told officers it was for a tooth ache.
The 22-year-old had previously appeared in court for possessing goods suspected to have been stolen, destroying property, common assault, break and enter and having a knife in public.
