The winners were judged by a panel comprising Camera House Orange owner Ric Pasquali, professional photographer Seth Buchanan and Orange City Council tourism manager (and former professional photographer) Glenn Mickle.
Visitors to the Visit Orange Facebook page were able to vote in the people’s choice category.
The winning photo, Sunrise from the Pinnacle, was taken by Orange resident Kali Wratten.
According to the judges the image was chosen because it “captures the creativity, enthusiasm and beauty of life in Orange”.
The prize for the best selfie was taken by Danika Archibald during a snowfall on Mount Canobolas.
In the people’s choice category Kali Wratten, Angus McKern and Nick Brady, entered the top-10 most popular images.
Orange deputy mayor Chris Gryllis said it was exciting to see the high quality of the entries.
“The city council is about to print a new edition of the Destination Guide, which is distributed to tourism outlets throughout Australia,” Cr Gryllis said.
“As well as images of Orange captured by professional photographers, it’s terrific that these images can be alongside photographs taken by residents who live here in Orange.
“People who live in Orange are our best ambassadors and it’s great that these fantastic shots of people enjoying themselves at places like Mount Canobolas and Cook Park have been taken through the eyes of locals.”
As well as featuring the winning images on the centre’s social media and in the Destination Guide, the winners will have their images printed on canvas.
