Meanwhile, Entertainer Gabe Middleton grew up watching the footy on television with her father Terry, so she considers being asked to perform at this year’s 2014 State of Origin blue bloods lunch as a “dream come true”.

Orange claiming the 2014 Netball NSW open state championship is the obvious big news, but there was still plenty of action in Orange to round-out the long weekend.
At Endeavour Oval, The ACT Brumbies under 14s were crowned NSW Junior Rugby Union state champions after surviving a late Gordon comeback to claim a thrilling decider 17-10.
Forced to come from behind after trailing 10-5 at the break, the junior Brumbies capitalised on a dominant second half, with tries to No.8 Jackson Kennett and fullback Charlie Woolford sealing the seven-point win.
While at Broadmeadow, Orange's 2014 Hockey NSW Men's Open Field State Championship division two campaign failed to amount to anything, with Orange losing two pool games to finish third.
In the side's final game, hat-tricks from Daryl Kennewell and Lewis Mike on Monday secured Orange a 9-3 win over Grafton (2) to at least make the trip back to Orange a little more enjoyable.
