Of the 341 respondents to the poll, 64.22 per cent named a petrol station as the number on thing they’d like to see open in north Orange.
It seems residents won’t have to wait long for their wish, with developer Richard Sharpe confirming this week that a 24-hour-petrol station would be the first tenant in his service centre development in Hanrahan Place, near the Leeds Parade roundabout.
According to poll respondents, other amenities lacking in north Orange included footpaths, schools, pubs and a leash-free area for dogs with a DVD store or dispenser the least in demand.
Even though there’s a Subway in north Orange and McDonald’s is under construction, 23.17 per cent of poll respondents listed more take-away outlets as one of the top three things the area needed, with one online reader suggesting a Red Rooster would do well in the area.
Some online readers said they’d also like to see a variety store in north Orange
The Central Western Daily poll was conducted in response to new figures from the Australian Bureau of Statistics which show north Orange is growing at the fastest rate of any inland area in NSW.
