Drawn at the Central Western Daily last Friday, Allandale Park Stud will lend its brand to the biggest and richest race on the Racing Orange calendar on April 11 at Towac Park.
Following on from the successful running of the 2013 Cup won by Jimmy Fortunes, Racing Orange interim chief executive officer Daniel Brincat said the club was determined to further enhance Towac Park’s feature race meeting.
“It’s our grand final,” Brincat said.
“We’re trying to build on the quality of last year’s cup and the support the event received.”
Taking ownership of the main race, the $50,000 Allandale Park Stud Orange Cup (1600m) will run at Towac Park on Friday, April 11, headlining the day’s eight-race program.
Others to win naming rights on the day were Frame Effect, Kents H Hardware, Atlas Copco, Tilston BEC, Britt’s Water Solutions, WIN TV and Barnes Mowing.
In all, $165,000 worth of prize money is on offer throughout the day.
“It’s the old thing, good prize money always attracts a good field and that’s what we’ve tried to do with the cup over the last few years,” Brincat added.
“There was certainly a lot of excitement for last year’s field and we’re trying to build on that momentum this year.”
In the lead up to the 2014 Allandale Park Stud Orange Cup day, Racing Orange has launched a 100 Club.
Racing Orange will be selling 100 tickets at $100 per ticket which will see five entrants receive one of a number of prizes, headlined by a 10 per cent share in a filly sired by Group One winner Excites out of multiple winning mare Hycibel.
The first 12 months training fees will also be free.
Winning tickets will be drawn on Allandale Park Stud Cup Day.
