With day one of all first grade cricket now down the gurgler, round 13 action will turn into 40-over contests starting next Saturday.
Centrals take on Waratahs at Wade Park, Orange City hosts Cavaliers at Riawena Oval and CYMS travel to KWS Main Oval to tackle the students in three key games.
Of the teams, CYMS are probably the most disappointed they don’t have a shot at two days of cricket.
The green and golds are locked in a two-way battle for the 2013-14 ODCA minor premiership with Cavaliers, both teams sitting on 87 points.
Kinross traditionally struggles over the longest form of the game - they lost by an innings and 61 runs to Cavs last round - and CYMS would have been backing themselves to bank maximum points and wedge a decided points advantage of Cavaliers nearing the end of the regular season.
CYMS skipper Hugh Le Lievre said while the wash-out had resulted in an opportunity gone begging, “there’s not a lot you can do about the weather”.
“I’m personally not too concerned,” Le Lievre said.
“Kinross might have been a good opportunity to push for an outright win but you’ve got to secure first innings points before you worry about anything else.
“The bottom line is we play Cavaliers in the final round, and that will probably decide the minor premiership.”
The washed-out Royal Hotel Cup semi-final between Orange City and Molong will be replayed on Wednesday night, starting at 6.30pm.
