After dismissing the students on day one for 104, Cavaliers skipper Richie Venner blasted 104 not out to lead his side to 2-257 overnight.
Venner was unavailable on Saturday, and stand-in skipper James Ryan declared before the start of play.
Needing 153 just to make Cavaliers bat again, Greg Martin (4-12) and Brad Wright (3-14) rolled through Kinross’ middle order, bowling the students out for 62.
Toby Polkinghorne (38) was the only Kinross batsman to show any resistance.
“Greggy bowled as well as I’ve ever seen him,” Ryan said.
The 14-point win catapults Cavaliers into first position.
Cavs are equal with CYMS on points, but carry a far superior quotient.
“Top spot is fantastic, especially if we can maintain it. With the finals the way they are it doesn’t really matter where you finish, except for in the case of wet weather.
“We’ve got some tough games coming up, but I’m confident we can maintain our performance.”
