Bowl well, and win.
“It’s simple for us, “ Pauletto said.
“We just need to focus on taking eight wickets.”
Easier said than done.
Pauletto elaborated, saying his team’s success would hinge on his bowlers’ consistency.
“We’ve just got to hit our areas, all day,” he said.
“If we do that, and take our chances, we should be able to get up.”
CYMS leader Hugh Le Lievre said if any team is going to restrict his troops, it’s Centrals.
“Centrals have a very good bowling attack,” Le Lievre said.
“If they get a couple of early ones they’ll be right on top, so our guys need to try and ensure that doesn’t happen.”
Le Lievre highlighted Matt Baker (2 not out) and the returning Hamish Finlayson as pivotal in his team’s chase.
“It’s good to have Matty Baker not out overnight,” Le Lievre said.
“It’s also good to have Hamish coming back in, albeit for Dave Neil. It means we have our two leading run scorers in our line up.”
Le Lievre gave Centrals credit, before suggesting the true Wade Park outfield would assist CYMS on an afternoon predicted to be stifling.
“170 is a very competitive score, especially when you’ve got the opposition 2-8,” Le Lievre said.
“But Wade Park will be good and hard, and we’ll get value for our shots. I’m confident we’re good enough to get over the line.
“It’s a new challenge for our guys to chase a good total.”
