Passionate foodies and those yet to be introduced to the delights of the FOOD experience in Orange will board the train at Sydney’s Central Station on the morning of April 11 and head for Orange.
This year guests will be greeted by hosts Sheelagh Tancred and Amanda Walker with Ruth Swift representing Printhie Wines.
As the carriages wind their way over the Blue Mountains, the guests will have plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent scenery matched only by the food plated up and shared on board, which represents the resilience, innovation and entrepreneurial style of the Orange region farmers.
The train will stop at Lithgow and welcome on board a special guest, MasterChef winner Kate Bracks, who will board just in time for morning tea.
According to FOOD Week representatives once in Orange the epicurean expedition will begin another adventure, to be guided through Borrodell and the Heritage Apple Walk on the slopes of Mount Canobolas.
Over the following two days guests will enjoy dinner at Bistro Ceello, explore Orange’s farmers’ markets, have bruch at the Agrestic Grocer and take part in Heritage Walks through historic Millthorpe.
The FOOD Week forage, now in its fourth year, has already attracted plenty of interest.
FOOD Week president James Sweetapple said yesterday member tickets to the Forage event had already sold out.
“It was encouraging to get so much early interest with phone inquiries during January about our up and coming FOOD Week,” he said.
He said he had been browsing through this year’s program, which was very reader friendly.
“It looks fantastic and will be available this week,” he said.
Tickets for the Forage event will be available to the public from February 5, with tickets to the 100 mile dinner available on February 10.
