Think Daniel Mortimer winning the National Rugby League title with the Sydney Roosters or Edwina Bone carving out a name for herself in a resurgent Hockeyroos line-up.

Plying their respective trades in Orange, Mardi Aplin and Trent Colley stuck it to the best the nation has to offer, competing for Canberrra in the Australian Netball League and the Bush Blues in the Australian Country Cricket Championship respectively.

Orange City went back-to-back, undefeated again for good measure, in the Blowes Clothing Cup rugby competition, the Orange City Cricket Club ended a title drought in style and Orange took out the Pat Weston crown at the Netball NSW State Championship, a title won by being the best country team at the tournament.
Throw in Richie Venner's magnificent 222 not out - the single biggest score in the ODCA in recent memory - and another national record after national record for super fish Will Baker and the highs certainly out weight the lows in 2013.
