The 49-year-old father of four was seriously injured and had his left arm severed when a concrete boom collapsed on him at a residential building site in Orange.
Since then Mr Flowers has remained in Westmead Hospital with Sandie and his family by his side.
Mrs Flowers called from Terry’s bedside in hospital to thank the Orange community for their support following a fundraiser on Friday night.
“To everyone that donated we are completely overwhelmed by the generosity,” Mrs Flowers said.
“We were overwhelmed, we just can’t believe the generosity of the Orange community.
“We know that Orange is a very close community but it takes an accident like this to see it.”
Mrs Flowers thanked Jodie Dukes for organising a fundraiser on Terry’s behalf.
“For Jodie and the team to put it together it was just remarkable,” Mrs Flowers said.
“We can never ever thank everyone enough.”
Mrs Flowers said the accident “was a very close call” and Terry would remain in Sydney’s Westmead Hospital for a while.
As she watches her husband come to terms with his injuries Sandie feels very proud of him.
“He’s coming to terms with the long haul back,” she said.
“It’ll take a while to come back from ... [but] he’s on his way back, he’s a fighter.”
Mrs Flowers said donations from the fundraiser would be made to Orange hospital and the Westmead trauma unit.
“They saved his life,” she said.
Mrs Flowers called the Central Western Daily so she and Terry could thank the community.
“We just wanted to let you know that it didn’t go unnoticed and we are forever grateful,” she said.
