Among the line-up were 43 students from Orange High School, 12 from Canobolas Rural Technology High School and 16 from Calare Public School.
They joined forces with hundreds of students from across the state for the production.
There are four performances for this year’s Spectacular with matinee and night performances yesterday and today.
Orange High School principal David Lloyd said the students left on Tuesday and were very excited about taking part.
“Sixteen dancers will perform in two acts of the show ... there’s a choir group and an indigenous dance group,” he said.
“They’re really excited and ready to go.”
Mr Lloyd said student Ali Clarke was also selected to perform with the Schools Spectacular orchestra.
“There’s only 100 students from across the state, it’s quite elite,” Mr Lloyd said.
Calare Public School assistant principal Vicki Bray said their students took part in the Spectacular’s choir.
“They were so excited, it’s an experience of a lifetime,” she said.
Canobolas Rural Technology High School music teacher Lauren Aldrick spoke to the Central Western Daily shortly after their first performance yesterday.
“It was good and it was loud,” she said.
“They’re loving it, it’s their first time.”
The 2013 Schools Spectacular will be televised on WIN tonight at 7pm.
