Higher School Certificate exams finished in November and Amy was stressed.

Preliminary results came out in December and Amy was stressed.

ATAR marks came out the next day and Amy scored 95 out of 100 yet she was still stressed.

Finally Amy can breathe a sigh of relief and relax after finding out on Wednesday night she got into university after first-round offers became available.

Amy and her sister Rachael studied up to six hours a day to achieve their results and Amy is glad to know it was all worth it in the end. 

While Amy and her twin sister Rachael did not get into the courses they wanted, the girls are happy with the end result.

Both girls applied to study veterinary science at Wagga Wagga but unfortunately did not get accepted.

Instead Amy opted to study science with a major in animal science while her sister will study equine science. 

“I’m very happy,” Amy said.

Amy said after getting knocked back for the Wagga Wagga course she decided she would undertake the science degree through the University of New England in Armidale by distance. 

While she did not get the result she wanted she decided this way was easier for her in the long run.

“It’s way more convenient,” she said.

Like most students Amy knows when one door closes, a window opens. She said she had not fully committed yet but was thinking of transferring back to the veterinary course after 12 months in the science degree.
