With many children requiring iPads for their school studies that can account for the demand for the latest in technology, but when it comes to children’s toys there is no standout this year, manager of Big W, Duncan Pacey said.
In others parts of town, trampolines, boogie boards, and even deck quoits are top sellers, David Russell of Sportsworld said.
“They have all been selling like hot cakes and so has the inflatable bouncing house,” Mr Russell said.
When it comes to books the top seller is Diary of a Wimpy Kid according to owner of Collins Booksellers Phillip Schwebel.
Peter FitzSimons recent visit to Orange seems to have boosted the sales of Eureka which is one of the three best sellers for adults, Mr Schwebel said.
However it is the next in the Jamie Oliver series that surprises Mr Schwebel with it’s popularity.
“Last Christmas we had his 30-minute book which was very popular and this year its the 15-minute meal book which is the big seller.
“His [Jamie Oliver] popularity just amazes me,” Mr Schwebel said.
Also high on the list of best sellers says Mr Schwebel is the Colours of Orange, coffee table style book.
