Green is taking on America’s BJ Flores for the IBO cruiserweight world title tonight at Perth’s Challenge Stadium but before they step into the ring, Ah-See will be showing off his skills.
The 19-year-old will take on Mhelvin Hernandez from the Philippines over four three-minute rounds. It was Green who requested Ah-See be in Perth tonight.
“He (Ah-See) fought in Wyong last Thursday and knocked the other guy out in the first 30 seconds,” Mobsport head trainer Jake Kenney explained.
“Danny Green saw it and called up.”
Thursday’s fight against Shawn Martin was Ah-See’s second professional bout and now means he has won both with first-round knockouts.
Hernandez, 28, has had 12 fights for one win.
Ah-See said he didn’t know a lot about his opponent.
Even though the southpaw has knocked out his last two opponents, he said he won’t be thinking about that tonight in his light middleweight bout.
“I don’t want to have that in my head,” Ah-See said.
“I just want to do what I have to do.”
Ah-See said he’s looking forward to stepping into the ring again.
“I’m ready. I can’t wait,” he said.
Kenney said it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the teenager this year.
“He’s struggled mentally this year but he’s now back on track,” Kenney said.
“He had some time off and came to it.”
Kenney said people who heard about Ah-See’s result last Thursday have stopped the young boxer in the street to show their support.
