Cabonne mayor Kevin Beatty, former mayor Ian Gosper, Molong residents Marj Bollinger and Kaylene Philpott and member for Calare Andrew Gee cut the ribbon at the Betts Street facility.
The complex has a synthetic surface field for hockey, netball and tennis, as well as providing an all-weather training and playing surface for several other sports.
The council spent $1 million to build the first stage while the federal government provided $225,000 for stage two.
“Molong has been very strong with hockey having had representatives going to further levels so being able to train in a first-class facility, rather than bumpy old grass, it’s only going to make their skills better,” Cr Beatty said.
