Beau Dinsdale, of Bundarra Crescent, faced Orange Local Court on Monday for his second driving while disqualified charge.
According to police, Dinsdale was driving a blue Nissan four-wheel-drive east along Glenroi Avenue just after 11pm on February 22.
When asked for his licence, Dinsdale said he did not have one.
He was first disqualified in 2016.
Solicitor Andrew Rolfe said his client had been helping his sister with car repairs at the time he was pulled over.
“He drive to buy some items for the repair of the car,” he said.
“It’s been disposed of.”
Magistrate Jacqueline Trad told Dinsdale a licence would help him seek work he could have applied for his licence in 2020.
“You’ve pushed that back another four years,” she said.
“You penalise yourself.”
Ms Trad gave Dinsdale a 12-month good behaviour bond.
Bonds breached
A SECOND driving while disqualified offence has forced one Orange man to be re-sentenced for previous offending.
Patrick Shane Luland, 53, of Leura Road, pleaded guilty in Orange Local Court on Monday to the charge.
According to police, Luland was pulled over just before 1am on January 18.
He told police he did not have a licence and also tested positive to methylamphetamine and cannabis.
He had previously received a good behaviour bond without supervision in May for a similar driving offence, however Ms Trad replaced it with a bond with supervision.
She said Luland, who represented himself in court, required help for drug and alcohol issues.
“You are to report to community corrections and follow their directions – if you are advised to do a program, you are in breach if you do not do that program,” she said.
Luland received an 18-month bond, was disqualified an extra 12 months and fined $250.
