A development application lodged with Orange City Council said the Silverdown Way house would be positioned to maximise views.
“The typical use will involve short stays by guests who can experience the semi-rural setting,” it said.
“The first floor of the two-storey section would be offered as premium guest accommodation with a relatively open plan that provides two bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and bar area.
“Large windows will provide generous views to the north and south from this elevated space taking in the rural hinterland of Orange and Mount Canobolas.”

Orange Region Tourism interim executive officer Justin Byrne welcomed the proposal as long as it met planning requirements.
“As long as it’s appropriate I think it’s a positive,” he said.
“It shows the strength of the market.”
Clifton Gardens Bed and Breakfast owner John Gransden said they faced competition from the boom in Airbnb properties.
“The traditional hosted b&bs have lost some trade but we still have a place in the market,” he said.
