A MOTORCYCLIST has died after hitting a feral pig while riding along a country road in the Central West.

Police say the 57-year-old man was riding west along Neilrex Road at Coolah about 8.20pm on Friday when a large black pig ran in front of the bike.
The bike hit the pig and the rider was thrown over the handlebars, landing heavily on the roadway.
The man sustained critical head injuries and died a short time later at Coolah Hospital.
The pig was killed on impact.
The man’s partner was riding her motorcycle about 40 metres behind but wasn’t injured.
