The party’s campaign was launched on Friday night with Mr Nugent promising all councillors would be kept fully informed of business, activities and events.
“This will include a weekly mayoral media update and mayoral Facebook page,” he said.
“This will be the first time Orange has elected a mayor to hold the role for four years and voters should be looking for someone who will lead an effective and successful council.”
Mr Nugent said he wanted Orange to become the most liveable regional city in NSW.
He said he wanted to see diverse employment opportunities, first class health and education facilities, accessible services for all.
Mr Nugent said Orange should have the reputation of being the place to visit for food and wine, community and sporting events, heritage buildings, street art and natural beauty.
Retiring Greens councillor Neil Jones said it was time for fresh leadership and representation on the council.
