There was a huge crowd on hand to watch one of the best games of Woodbridge Cup in recent memory, Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash between the Manildra Rhinos and Trundle Boomers.

Played a Manildra’s Jack Huxley Oval, from the first kick-off both sides measure up in defence, pulling off some bone-jarring hits.
Both sides threw plenty at each other with ball in hand but a number of last-ditch defensive efforts kept the score at 0-0.
It was the 23rd minute before Trundle opened the scoring through Jesse Durning, which Linc Taylor converted.
The Rhinos hit back with an exciting try to Luke Wilson, from a Mitch Gibson cross-field kick. It wasn’t converted though, the Boomers led 6-4 at half-time.
With the game in the balance the Rhinos came out hard after the break, Patty Gibson directing the Rhinos’ play, which resulted in a great try to winger Jake Mullins.
Again, it wasn’t converted, but the Rhinos still led 8-6 with 30 minutes to go.
The Rhinos pushed the lead to 12-6 with a Grant Williams on the 60-minute mark, but again it wasn’t converted.
Trundle captain-coach Adam Hall weaved his way through to score, which Taylor converted to level things up.
In a see-sawing game the Rhinos scored next through Harry Gersbach, Mitch Gibson nailing his first conversion to go 18-12 with 15 to go.
But the Boomers wouldn’t go away and on the back of some sustained possession scored through Ryan Porter and then Hayden Robinson, Luke Taylor kicking one conversion to give his side a miraculous win.
Also on Saturday, Canowindra drew 40-40 with Peak Hill, which could cost the Roosters fourth spot.
Grenfell thrashed Burrangong 84-0 to take fourth on points difference, both sides on 20 competition points.
Eugowra Golden Eagles defeated Condobolin 58-28.
In youth league Manildra won 40-18 over Trundle to go to top spot over the Boomers while Eugowra and Condobolin played out a 24-24 draw.
In league tag Manildra, Canowindra, Grenfell and Eugowra had wins, over Trundle, Peak Hill, Burrangong and Condobolin respectively.
