Juke Frederick Boney, 30, of Calang Street was represented in court by solicitor Nidal Abdi and pleaded guilty to the possession charge.
“It was a small amount, it was aggravated by the fact that Mr Boney was on conditional liberty at the time,” Mr Abdi said.
“This was a relapse with his drug use, his goal is to be drug free by the end of the year.”
About 11.30am on Thursday, February 16, police saw Boney and two other people walking along Frost Street.
They stopped and searched Boney and found syringes and methamphetamines, which weighed 0.2 grams.
Boney said he bought the drugs for $80 a couple of days earlier for his personal use.
