Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to -2 degrees and the daytime temperature is expected to peak at nine degrees.
Weatherzone meteorologist Graeme Brittain said it is much cooler than the April average temperatures of a minimum of 5.5 degrees and long-term maximum of 19 degrees.
Mr Brittain said the change is also bringing the first frosts of the season.
“It’s a cold front that’s pushing across NSW with storms and rain behind it that, it will be much cooler,” he said.
Although sunny skies will return this week, the nights will remain cold until cloud cover returns on Saturday and temperatures are set to increase to a maximum of 16 degrees on Sunday.
